Adam Ginsberg
Adam is a cool guy. He’s a big man and can work the audience well. His claim to fame is being the best seller on eBay. He started out selling billiard tables on eBay and now works solely on the seminar circuit promoting his strategies for selling on eBay. His custom system for producing high selling advertisements on eBay is legendary and although his slides are very old he has the contacts in eBay to be able to claim a competitive advantage over your typical eBay seller, and he’s willing to sell it to you.
The love of Adam’s life is not his wife, evidently it is an ugly piece of work that looks like a lot of fun, a motorcycle with two front wheels that we’re not allowed to call a trike. Adam loves to take the machine around the coast at Santa Monica much to the displeasure of his adoring wife. But I digress…
eBay Success
Adam Ginsberg’s success on eBay came as the result of his mother getting on his back to sell his products online after she’d had some success selling beanie babies. Nobody buys beanie babies anymore, so I’m told, but Adam shows us that you can sell a wedding dress from a man left at the last minute, or a pair of used training shoes. Adam’s catch cry is ‘who cares’. If they are willing to pay for junk, who are we to stop ‘em.
eBay Is A Search Engine Too
One of the things that I really took home from Adam’s presentation was the fact that 8.5 million searches are performed on eBay every day. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a greater proportion of people who are searching on eBay are actually looking for something to purchase. Adam’s product, which can only be brought at an event, creates well designed ads for trading houses, and other products, on eBay. The other product is an online warehouse that will drop ship products you can sell on eBay first and pay for once you’ve received payment. The key task in this scenario is finding products you are capable of writing decent sales copy for and using the ad designer system to create great selling ads on eBay.
eBay Buyers Make A Great List
During the presentation Adam Ginsberg also let on to an alternative to eBay for good purchases and that is OverStock.com which he used as a low price alternative for setting the reserve price for his auction of the warehoused goods when selling on eBay. Another interesting aspect of Adam’s strategy is the building up of a list of buyers using this strategy. One of the sayings in Internet Marketing is the money is in the list. Using Adam’s strategy you are able to build a list of qualified purchasers and profile them by their purchases. Very interesting indeed.

I’m sure Adam Ginsberg knows his stuff, but I would not recommend his workshops due to the cost. For what you learn, it seems like an aweful lot of money to pay….don’t believe the hype!
Adam’s job is selling you on an eBay business, since that’s what he made his money doing, and he makes compelling propositions. He’s a good salesman that’s for sure, but hype? I’m not so sure about that.
At the moment the American economy is such that housing prices are at their lowest relative values in recent history, and interest rates are at historic lows. Short-term trades in American property are far more risky than holding medium-term (3-5yrs) or long-term. IMHO, and conditional on being able to service a 30-year fixed rate loan … that’s probably pretty good advice.
